3am Reflections

Empty and lonely,
I fall into those pits
Of darkness.
Your dark eyes,
They dragged me in.
And captured my gaze,
My time, my attention
And my heart.

(Chorus)
I fall but you don't catch me.
You say "stay away,
I'm trouble.
Why can't you see?
This won't ever work between you and me.
I fell to pieces
A long, long time ago.
But you're still whole, still perfect
And I don't wanna be
The one to blame,
For breaking you.
I don't wanna drag you down too."

I could see your pain,
I could sense you were wary,
But I promise you that I'll be there,
Beside your deathbed.
You'll be a legend,
You'll be known forever,
If you let me help you.

(Chorus)
I fall but you don't catch me.
You say "stay away,
I'm trouble.
Why can't you see?
This won't ever work between you and me.
I fell to pieces
A long, long time ago.
But you're still whole, still perfect
And I don't wanna be
The one to blame,
For breaking you.
I don't wanna drag you down too."

I did my best,
And you did your worst.
Despite this, I'm still by your side,
I'm still fighting for us,
Hoping against everything that I can be with you.
I don't care what was "then",
I just want "now" and "what will-be"

(Chorus)
I fall but you don't catch me.
You say "stay away,
I'm trouble.
Why can't you see?
This won't ever work between you and me.
I fell to pieces
A long, long time ago.
But you're still whole, still perfect
And I don't wanna be
The one to blame,
For breaking you.
I don't wanna drag you down too."

At last I gave in.
I smiled softly,
Opened up my arms,
And surrendered my scars
To your wide eyes.
