Tell your brother its your life and that if he loved you he would let you be happy with who makes you happy. Don't let other people decide your life because you will regret it. You have one life live it how you want to live it.

If you're not ready don't do it. Stay with him until you are ready. It doesn't matter about his financial status. If you love him, it doesn't matter what others think :)
