Confused Need Of A guys point of view to understand

So im talking to this guy online we have talked for about a month I asked him questions to get to knw him he was great about that ....So already in trust of each others goals hobbies and that we didnt want to jump to a relationship right away....So im guessing keeping in touch intrst response...I finally ask are u looking to be my friend or something more ??? he never answered back what happened ???HELP
