Red and Royalty

Poem by : Terio Ruiz
Submitted on : Feb 21, 2013
The crimson and cream stands out very much
It goes with royal purple and old gold
Both have passed one hundred years in lives touched
There’s a narrative with the two that’s told

Both encompass strength in all forms and shapes
But the Red remains linked to womanhood
Her poise lets strawberries taste well with grapes
And the Royalty has hooks to manhood

One begins with a change in the forefront
While the other starts with the end in mind
Combined they’re frankly clever in the hunt
This is why they’re what others try to find

They are as distinct as the five fingers
But as one hand their innate love lingers.
