Love Story From A Demisexual

Walking down the street I could see your face.
Every fucking memory is engraved into my mind.
I can't forget even if I wanted to,
And I wonder if it still haunts you.

Do you ever wish you could go back?
Do you ever wish things could be different?
Do you ever wish you could do it again
Smile one more time because you know
It's the end.

She's there with you, smiling because I can't.
You broke me past repair and I choke out:

"Do you ever wish you could go back?
Do you ever wish things could be different?
Do you ever wish you could do it again
Smile one more time because you know
It's the end."

She shakes her head and says
"Sweetie,
They deserve each other
But you're above them."
I sob and whisper to you:

"Do you ever wish you could go back?
Do you ever wish things could be different?
Do you ever wish you could do it again
Smile one more time because you know
It's the end."

Now we barely talk,
Our eyes slide past each other.
Am I your mistake,
Tainted and forgotten?

Do you ever wish you could go back?
Do you ever wish things could be different?
Do you ever wish you could do it again
Smile one more time because you know
It's the end.

I get so sick of seeing you together
That I stalk up to you and lean in close,

"Don't you ever miss me?
Wish that you'd kissed me?
Smiled one more time because that was the end?"

Then I turn and walk away,
Cry the rest of the day away
And softly sing:

"Do you ever wish you could go back?
Do you ever wish things could be different?
Do you ever wish you could do it again
Smile one more time because you know
It's the end.

Don't you ever wish you could say sorry?
See my eyes light up one more time?
And just be friends for a minute more?"
